One weakness is the omission of several disorders, including reactive attachment disorder, elimination disorders, and selective mutism. In addition, a chapter addressing the mental health needs of physically ill children might have been useful given the target audience. Despite these exclusions, the book does the job it set out to do, which is to help educate and perhaps empower those poised to treat this challenging yet rewarding population.
