We are seeking clinically active psychiatrists who would value the opportunity to join the clinical faculty of University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) at their new satellite inpatient facility in Springdale, Arkansas.

 

The successful candidate will be an academically oriented physician who will join the faculty and oversee inpatient care at the newly established Psychiatric Research Institute—Northwest Arkansas. Under the direction of Dr. Michael Hollomon, Medical Director, this 28 bed inpatient facility provides mental health care for patients from throughout the rapidly growing Springdale—Fayetteville—Bentonville region. Additionally, this candidate will be involved in teaching medical students, family practice residents and psychiatry residents from UAMS. A modest amount of outpatient care will also be provided for pre- and post- hospitalized patients.

 

Desired candidate qualifications include:

• MD or DO degree

• Board Eligibility / Certification

• A passion for teaching and mentoring

• Excellent clinical abilities

 

The new Psychiatric Research Institute, one of only nine institutions in the country to combine psychiatric research and education with inpatient and outpatient care, has been named the sixth Center of Excellence at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The designation represents a convergence of a facility, faculty, staff, and programs focused on a particular cause. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is part of the University of Arkansas System. UAMS has about 2,530 students in six academic units: the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Related Professions, and Public Health and the Graduate School.
