CHIEF OF MENTAL HEALTH Interdisciplinary Position (Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, and Nursing)

 

The VA Medical Center, Huntington, WV is seeking a creative, experienced and dynamic leader with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for the position of Chief of Mental Health Service. The incumbent will manage the Mental Health Service at the VA in Huntington, plus two additional outpatient clinics located in Charleston, WV, and Prestonsburg, KY. Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of leadership and administrative responsibility. The incumbent is responsible for all administrative and clinical duties relating to psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and, administrative positions. The incumbent will manage quality assurance/improvement activities for all Mental Health programs, and ensure compliance with all applicable JCAHO standards. The successful candidate should have the ability to promote excellence in the provision of patient care, teaching, and research. The incumbent of this position will spend approximately 20% of their time with clinical responsibilities including, but not limited to inpatient care, and outpatient care including tele-mental health; and approximately 80% of their time managing the Mental Health Service. The incumbent must be board certified or board eligible with a valid license in any state. This position offers a potential of a faculty appointment at our affiliate Marshall University. PSYCHIATRIST- Section Chief

 

VA Medical Center, Huntington, WV is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to serve as Psychiatry Section Chief. The incumbent is responsible for all administrative and clinical duties relating to psychiatrists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. The incumbent will manage quality assurance and improvement activities for all psychiatry programs and ensure compliance with all applicable JCAHO standards. The incumbent will participate in management decisions, establishing service policy. The incumbent of this position will spend approximately 50% of their time with clinical responsibilities including, but not limited to inpatient consult care and outpatient care including tele-mental health, and approximately 50% of their time managing the psychiatry section. The incumbent must be board certified or board eligible with a valid license to practice medicine in any state.
