ACADEMIC PSYCHIATRIST OPPORTUNITIES

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine maintains internationally-recognized research programs in functional brain imaging and AIDS prevention and is among the top psychiatry departments in NIH funding. Psychosomatic Medicine & Ambulatory Subspecialty Positions
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is expanding subspecialty services and currently has openings for full-time assistant/associate professor level psychiatrists. Responsibilities include clinical care of patients, as well as teaching/supervision of residents and medical students. Psychosomatic opportunities include both inpatient and outpatient consults on patients with a variety of medical and surgical issues. Clinical, research, and educational opportunities abound in areas of C/L psychiatry as diverse as emergency medicine, psycho-oncology, transplant medicine, and primary care. Collaborative research opportunities exist for candidates with a neuropsychiatry interest to work with Neurology and Neurosurgery. Ambulatory opportunities exist in the department’s central and metropolitan locations. Candidates with interests in women’s health, geriatric psychiatry, addictionology and other expertise are encouraged to apply. Outpatient leadership opportunities also exist for faculty who wish to advance in an academic setting.
Fellowship Training Director, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
The Department seeks a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist to be Director of Training for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at MCW and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The five-year accredited training program has been substantially improved in the past four years in diversity of training and didactic experiences. Training Director responsibilities will comprise at least 50% of the position with the remaining 50% devoted to clinical responsibilities determined by candidate interest and department needs. The Fellowship Training program is broad in scope, based on the campus of the Regional Medical Center, complemented by educational training opportunities for Fellows in private and public sector community agencies, clinics and hospitals. Child & Adolescent Positions
The Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, based at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, is undergoing significant growth. Opportunities for developing research interest and clinical programs exist in affective and psychotic disorders, psychiatric problems in the medically-ill child, neuroimaging, pharmacogenomics, animal models, and evidence-based psychotherapies. Clinical opportunities exist in community-based, primary care, outpatient and inpatient settings. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is ranked in the nation’s “Top 10” pediatric hospitals.
Community Mental Health Psychiatrists

PSYCHIATRIST
Waukesha County Health and Human Services is recruiting for a full-time Psychiatrist to work in our outpatient services. The psychiatrist who assumes this position will provide medical oversight and consultation to treatment and recovery teams in our community Support Program, Comprehensive Community Services program, and Mental Health Day Treatment program and is responsible for the diagnosis, care, and treatment of psychiatric patients in these programs. Approximately 8 hours per week are assigned to direct service in the outpatient Mental Health Clinic. The staff psychiatrist participates in activities of the medical staff and in the systematic planning and review of health services of the department as assigned.
Educational requirements are possession of a degree from a recognized medical school; completion of an approved internship; completion of three years of approved residency training in psychiatry and possession of or eligibility to obtain a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin. Board certification in psychiatry or eligibility required.
New Salary Range for the Psychiatrist position which effective July 5, 2008 is $167,392 - $194,053. Our benefit package includes vacation, holidays, sick time, health, dental and life insurance, CME time, deferred compensation program, professional liability insurance, retirement program and the opportunity for private practice on site.
