CANADIAN CONSENSUS CRITERIA FOR MYALGIC ENCEPHALOMYELITIS |
 | | All of the following are required for a diagnosis of myalgic encephalomyelitis | Persistent and recurrent postexertional malaise and fatiguea
| | Sleep disorder—unrefreshing sleep or altered sleep pattern
| | Pain—arthralgia or mylagia without inflammatory signsa
| | Neurological/cognitive manifestations (eg, memory, information processing, disorientation, overload phenomena)
| | At least 2 of the followinga:
| | Autonomic symptoms: orthostatic intolerance, tachycardia, bowel or bladder dysfunction
| | Neuroendocrine symptoms: loss of thermostatic stability, hypoglycemia, loss of adaptability to stress
| | Immune symptoms: tender lymph nodes, flu like symptoms, hypersensitivity to medications and chemicals
