Faculty Position –Geriatric Psychiatrist The University of Vermont College of Medicine is seeking a Geriatric Psychiatrist for the full-time faculty. This position is being offered at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on the clinical non-tenure track. The individual will join an expanding clinical and research Geriatric Psychiatry program. This individual's primary role will be to further develop ambulatory geriatric services offered by our affiliated health care system, Fletcher Allen Health Care (FAHC), located on the university campus. As part of this clinical role, he/she will serve as Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic and will also have important roles in the Nursing Home Consultation Team and the Memory Center. This psychiatrist will also be responsible for strengthening training programs and providing direct teaching to medical students, residents, and other FAHC/UVM trainees in geriatric psychiatry. This individual will also assist in the development of a geriatric fellowship program. This psychiatrist will be strongly encouraged to participate in ongoing NIH-funded research, clinical trials, and other scholarly activities within the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and will have the opportunity to develop their own research agenda. Applicants must have a medical degree, be board certified in Psychiatry, and must have completed or be enrolled in specialty training in Geriatric Psychiatry.

Burlington Vermont is located in the beautiful Lake Champlain region, surrounded by the Green and Adirondack Mountains. It is a great place for families with excellent public schools and year-round recreational opportunities. It is home to the University of Vermont and three independent colleges that provide an academically stimulating and culturally rich environment. Montreal and Boston are within easy driving distances.
