DIRECTOR OF PSYCHIATRIC RESIDENCY TRAINING

San Mateo County’s Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS) is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to serve as Director or Psychiatric Residency Training for our clinical system of care. San Mateo County has one of the most progressive integrated behavioral health programs in the country and the Psychiatric Residency Training Program is an integral part of that system. The next cycle of this award winning program starts July 1, 2012 and currently has 16 Residents (4 PGY-1, 4 PGY-II, 4 PGY-III and 4 PGY-IV).
In this part-time role (30 hrs/wk), you will be responsible for all activities related to the San Mateo Psychiatric Residency Program including designing the instruction and curriculum for the program; meeting the American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accreditation guidelines; coordinating CME activities; arranging for the supervision of all 16 interns/residents; organizing selection of 4 new incoming resident interns each year through the National Match; providing direct teaching, case consultation and supervision; as well as collaborating with San Mateo Medical Center and other health care entities where the interns and residents rotate for clinical training and services.
The ideal candidate will be a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist and have at least 1 year of experience supervising psychiatrists and/or psychiatry residents, a keen interest in policy and planning around behavioral health issues and knowledge of addictions.
This part-time position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits including County-funded malpractice insurance, reimbursement of professional dues and expenses ($2,000/yr) and an additional 5% each up to two qualifying Board Certifications.
