Video: Stalking Victim Security: Psychiatric Perspectives and Practical Approaches

John Femia presented information on stalking victimization, awareness, and preventation at the 3rd Annual Forensic Psychiatry Conference, a CME event for mental health professionals.

Here, John Femia, a former police officer and senior investigator, describes his experience as a first responder to scenes of violence and stalking. He offers a profile of those who stalk others; describes different types of stalkers; and focuses in on cyberstalking—all with the mental health clinician in mind. In particular, Mr Femia articulates preventative measures that victims can take to communicate their experiences to police to ensure that stalkers are charged appropriately.

Mr Femia is Manager of Account Services with AMRIC Associates (https://amric.com), which specializes in private investigations that include services such as computer forensics, surveillance, workers' compensation investigations, witness interviewing, corporate security, etc.
