Psychiatrist – Special Programs - Manhattan – Gouverneur Health/NYC Health+Hospitals

Gouverneur Health is the flagship of a vibrant NYC Health+Hospitals Federally Qualified Health Center and we seek Psychiatrist(s) with a commitment to public service to help lead two initiatives:

The Family Justice Center and Gouverneur's HIV Services.

The Family Justice Center in Manhattan is an innovative program that offers co-located multidisciplinary services to domestic violence (DV) victims with the psychiatrist directing and providing short-term clinical services for DV victims in a supportive and collaborative setting. The initiative is a component of a city–wide effort and the Manhattan team draws on ongoing peer and expert supervision and training.

Gouverneur's HIV Services includes a mental health team that assists patients in gaining supportive housing, with the psychiatrist providing clinical supervision, training, and doing routine evaluations.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

  • Comprises a full-time position with a part-time employment as an
  • Will work within a multidisciplinary team that includes a full-time psychotherapist and an administrator, with linkage to the resources of the Health+Hospitals system
  • Will participate in weekly consultation and learning opportunities along with clinicians located at all five New York City Family Justice Centers.
  • Will provide training for peer and partner agencies on-site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ABPN Certification in psychiatry; 5 years of experience in this or related area, preferred; and experience with supervision of staff, preferred.

Gouverneur is a teaching affiliate of the New York University School of Medicine and there is opportunity for faculty appointment.
