Insomnia patients more frequently reported childhood parasomnias (72.1%) than did healthy subjects (48.8%) (Chi2=7.27, df=1, P<0.007). Looking at the individual parasomnias, insomnia patients showed a trend only for more frequent childhood nightmares compared with healthy subjects (Chi2=73.26, df=1, P=0.07).
