Psychiatric Times. Schizophrenia Quiz
September 7, 2010
Do you know the comorbidity rates for OCD in the schizophrenia population? Does early onset schizophrenia have any effect on disease severity? These questions and more from this week's quiz.
by Bonnie Johnson | February 27, 2011 6:28 PM EST Yes to the the comment above. Do you know that the staff at the hospital in our area does not do& will know do family meetings? The last time I renewed my CA BRN, I did it on "Psychiatrict Nursing". There is a great need to educate the staff that are supppose to be caring for patients during an acute epispode of their illness!!!!! I have learned a new word for how I feel about Incompetent Negligent health care workers. "Triggered"!! Think I am going to like that word. Darrel's Mom by The Editors | November 09, 2010 10:32 AM EST The question says which one of these is "not" true. Trick question! by Margaret Puckette | October 06, 2010 3:06 PM EDT The answer to this question should be "all of the above." To suggest otherwise is simply wrong. As a professional and parent of a child with early-onset schizophrenia, who is now an adult, every single one of the factors is an issue at all times in the course of life. The article explaining these reports from families lists all of these, why single out one as the correct answer? Families also report (to me and advocacy groups like NAMI) that mental health professionals don't understand what they go through, and I am concerned this is a reflection of that. Clearly, I'm triggered! |
