Radical Acceptance


Rejecting reality does not change it. How does radical acceptance help int he era of COVID-19?

Jeffrey Cohen, PsyD, offers 3 tips in order to welcome acceptance:

1) Willing hands, the physical position of upturned hands

2) An open heart, experiencing sadness with compassion

3) Imagining a fork in the road, where one side is accpetance and the other is denial, and acceptance must actively be chosen

Dr Cohen is a clinical psychologist and an instructor of psychology in the department of psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center.
