Unabomber - Poetry of the Times

He was headline news
the morning I told her,
eyes gone blank,
jaw dropped:
just like my mother
she whispered at the door.

When she misses her follow-up
and misses it again
I conceal the words
breast cancerin an envelope
I want to explode in her face.
