Hail to Floyd

Poetry allows for reflection a year after a tragedy and a travesty, and to honor a life lost.

POETRY FOR INCLUSION

Hail to Floyd

Today marks the 1-year anniversary of the modern-day lynching of George Floyd. We must continue to carry the torch and the flame that ignites for justice and mercy. The best way for me to express my feelings on this day is to honor Mr Floyd in the form of a haiku.

Year mourns his young soot

And the Black king yowls for grace

sings hymns for mama
