When individuals have mental health or substance use emergencies, they often end up in jail or emergency departments—but transformational change in outcomes for these individuals is happening. In this Mental Health Minute video, Margie Balfour, MD, PhD, of Connections Health Solutions and the University of Arizona discusses the current state of crisis care and some exciting new developments.

Dr Balfour is chief clinical quality officer at Connections Health Solutions and an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Arizona.
