Richard Berlin, MD, shares the poem, “Between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice, Today,” by Emily Jungmin Yoon. Yoon was born in Busan, Republic of Korea. She earned her BA in English and communication at the University of Pennsylvania and her MFA in creative writing at New York University. Her poems and translations have appeared in the New Yorker, Poetry magazine, Columbia Journal Online, and elsewhere. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Korean literature at the University of Chicago.

Dr Berlin has been writing a poem about his experience of being a doctor every month for the past 28 years in Psychiatric Times in a column called “Poetry of the Times.” He is an instructor in psychiatry, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, Massachusetts. His latest book isTender Fences.
