Catatonic Humanity

A psychiatrist reflects on society's catatonic state.

POETIC REFLECTIONS

American stupor and mutism

a prevalent condition for melancholic souls

Grimacing is now the status quo.

Repetitive wiping of tears

for human’s egotism

Muscles grieve rigid societal ideologies

Refusal to eat and drink

diversity of thought and perspective

Waxy flexibility is hyperbole

A benzo challenge for withdrawn

spirits searching for renewed connection

Humanity pines for resurrection
