Addressing Behavioral Health Emergencies With COVID-19

Dr Leslie Zun discusses factors associated with accessing services for patients undergoing psychiatric challenges during the pandemic. He also elaborates on the Joint Statement for Care of Patients with Behavioral Health Emergencies and Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19. The joint statement was compiled by by the American Association for Emergency Psychiatry, American College of Emergency Physicians, American Psychiatric Association, Coalition on Psychiatric Emergencies, Crisis Residential Association, and the Emergency Nurses Association.

Dr Zun is Professor and Assistant Dean for Faculty Talent Enhancement, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago Medical School, and Chair for the Coalition for Psychiatric Emergencies.
